Catherine W. Scott

portrait of Catherine W. Scott Ms. Scott concentrates her practice in all areas of real estate law and commercial bank financing in Vermont and New Hampshire. Her practice includes work in estate planning and probate. She also practices in the fields of land conservation and affordable housing. She has represented several municipal groups and nonprofit organizations involved in those areas. In 1990 she received a meritorious service award from the Vermont Community Loan Fund for her work with that organization.

Ms. Scott is a past Chair of the Vermont State Board of Bar Examiners and currently serves on a Vermont Bar Association subcommittee engaged in the task of developing Uniform Title Standards for Vermont practitioners. For many years, Ms. Scott served on the Board of the Upper Valley Land Trust, a bi-state nonprofit land conservation organization.

Ms. Scott was educated at Northfield School (1970) and graduated from Northwestern University (B.A. 1974) and Vanderbilt University Law School (J.D. 1977). Ms. Scott was admitted to practice in Vermont in 1977 and in New Hampshire in 1996.

Ms. Scott practices primarily in the firm's Business Formation and Advice, Real Estate and Estate Planning and Administration areas.
